This version of Valor, the bulldog mascot for Valor Vital, was the first sketch when I was developing the brand visuals for this project.

A week before this project was required to be finished, I had a “mid-project crisis” and decided to ditch this version of Valor all together. This version just wasn’t doing it for me anymore, and wasn’t really what I had invisioned at the beginning of the project.

PRIMARY LOGO

After trial and error, I settled on this version, the OFFICIAL version of Valor. I wanted him to look more sportsy, like an official sports team mascot, yet exude the characteristics and attitude of our brave, sometimes stubborn, soldiers.

Many people have asked why I chose the bulldog, and at that moment in time I couldn’t give them a definite answer. But now I can truly say that I wanted a mascot that embodied our soldiers, whether they be active or retired.

Bulldogs share several traits that resemble soldiers, including their tenacity, strength, and resilience. They are known for their determination and unwavering spirit, much like soldiers who demonstrate perseverance and grit in challenging situations
